Having \n\npremièred over 300 works for the trombone (including more than 30 \n\ncomposed by Christian himself), recorded over 70 solo CD’s, and having \n\nan international solo competition created in his name in Valencia, \n\nSpain, Christian Lindberg is today nothing less than a living legend.  At an early stage of his career he joined Yo Yo Ma and Gidon Kremer as \n\nthe BBC Music Magazine’s soloist of the year. In 2000, together with \n\nLouis Armstrong and Miles Davis, he was voted by an international poll \n\nthe greatest brass players of the 20th century. He was the first Swedish\n\n instrumentalist ever to be invited to perform as soloist with the \n\nBerlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In \n\n2007 he was artist in residence at the Musikverein in Vienna – the \n\n‘stronghold’ of traditional classical music. Christian Lindberg has \n\nworked with practically every major orchestra and conductor in the world\n\n today. For a trombonist to achieve all this before turning 50 is, to \n\nsay the least, remarkable.  Gradually Christian Lindberg has also embarked on two new successful \n\ncareers as conductor and composer. He now combines his position as chief conductor of the Arctic Symphony \n\nOrchestra with guest conducting the foremost international orchestras \n\nand working on composition commissions from international orchestras, \n\nensembles and instrumentalists in combination with his activities as an \n\ninstrumentalist.  Parallel with all these activities, Christian Lindberg makes sure he \n\ncan devote some valuable leisure time with his family at their country \n\nresidence on a peninsula of the beautiful Stockholm Archipelago.",
