About ScreenSearch
ScreenSearch is a free UK-focused web tool that answers one question — "where can I watch this in the UK?" — for any film or TV show. No account, no signup, no paywall. Built by an independent UK team in 2025.
Why we built it
By 2025 the UK had over 200 streaming services. Picking one is hard enough; figuring out which of them carries the film you actually want to watch tonight is harder. The existing tools either required a signup, hid behind a paywall, defaulted to US results, or were cluttered with cross-promotion.
We wanted a simple, fast, UK-first answer engine — type a title, see where it's streaming. That's it. Free forever, funded by tasteful display advertising and clearly-labelled affiliate links.
How it works
- You type a title into the search box on the homepage.
- ScreenSearch queries The Movie Database (TMDB) for matching films and TV shows.
- You pick a result and we show you which UK services carry it — Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Paramount+, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, NOW, Sky and 200+ more — grouped by Stream / Free / Rent / Buy.
- Click a provider tile to jump straight to that service's site.
Streaming availability is sourced from TMDB, which in turn pulls from JustWatch. Listings are refreshed daily.
Our principles
- UK-first by default. Other regions are on the roadmap; the default view is always GB availability.
- No accounts, ever. You don't need to sign up to use ScreenSearch. We don't store your searches.
- No behavioural tracking. No tracking pixels, no first-party analytics cookies. UK GDPR compliant by design.
- Affiliate links labelled. When we earn commission on an outbound click, the link uses
rel="sponsored". Search results are never re-ordered based on affiliate revenue. - Open source. The codebase is public on GitHub.
- Plain English. No marketing fluff. We explain what services cost, when data was last verified, and where it came from.
How we make money
Two sources, both transparent:
- Display advertising — tasteful banner placements that don't interrupt search.
- Affiliate commissions — when you sign up for a service through one of our outbound links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. All affiliate links are tagged
rel="sponsored noopener nofollow"per FTC and search-engine guidance.
Search itself is free and will remain so.
Where our data comes from
Streaming availability is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB), which in turn aggregates from JustWatch. Listings are refreshed daily.
For purchase decisions, the provider's own website is always the source of truth — prices, tiers, and exact availability can change between our daily refresh and your click.
