Alexandra Moen was born in Pisa, Italy. Having an oceanographer as a father meant that she and her family (a teacher mother and two younger brothers) travelled along with his work. At age six, she moved to Canada and then to Bermuda and finally ending up in England where she completed her schooling. She studied English at Leeds University before studying acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
