Rostyslav Oleksandrovych Synko (August 21, 1933, Stepano-Krynka, Donetsk Oblast — October 23, 2010, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, and sculptor. He was named an Honored Worker of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR in 1983. He was born in the village of Stepano-Krynka, Donetsk Oblast, into the family of an economist. He graduated from the acting department of the Kyiv Institute of Theater Arts named after I. Karpenko-Kary (1955). From 1955 to 1957, he served in the Belarusian Military District Ensemble, performed on stage at the Kyiv Theater for Young Audiences, and then worked …
