Pierre Beccu is a French film director, born on September 27, 1963, in Chambéry. After earning a Baccalaureate in Science (Bac D) in Chambéry, he arrived in Paris in 1981 to study film at Paris 3 University – Sorbonne Nouvelle. In 1983, he continued his studies in Italy, where he joined the "BASSANO Group – Ipotesi Cinema," founded and directed by Ermanno Olmi, the director of The Tree of Wooden Clogs.
