Andrew was raised in Warren, New Jersey, and is the only member of Tally Hall not from the Detroit suburbs. He attended the Pingry School, which eventually played host to Tally Hall's first non-Midwest shows. He lived with Rob Cantor during their sophomore year at the University of Michigan, which led to them playing music together and eventually playing Tally Hall's first show in 2002, along with Zubin Sedghi.
